The Foot and Ankle show returned to Exhibition Centre Liverpool, part of the ACC Liverpool campus, for the second instalment of their combined exhibition and conference.

The conference and exhibition took place in Hall A on its first outing to Exhibition Centre Liverpool in 2019.  In 2021, due to the success of that event, it doubled in size and extended into Hall B as well.

As the event took place during the government’s ‘Plan B’ Covid restrictions, the in-house team worked closely with the event organisers to ensure it adhered to secure measures.  These were in line with the government approved ‘All Secure Standard’ and as part of a series of accreditations received by the venue including VisitEngland’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ industry standard for tourism and hospitality.

From the start of the event planning process, the client team were clear that they wanted to create something a little different from the normal conference and exhibition layout. They were keen to ensure that the main conference stage did not feel isolated from the exhibition and that it became a focal point within the main exhibition hall.

The clients liaised with ACC Liverpool’s in-house production team to design and deliver a full production package for their main plenary stage.  The in-house designer worked closely with the client team to create a bespoke production package which was suitable for providing a top-class stage for their presenters to deliver their speeches on. As the main stage was situated within the exhibition hall, there were some design considerations around noise spill to stands in close proximity to the main stage.  The team designed a bespoke set-up for audio, lighting, video and rigging to satisfy the brief.

Adam King, director of organisers Osgo, said: “We are now into the third year of running the Foot and Ankle Show at Exhibition Centre Liverpool and throughout our stay the team has been fantastic to work with, helping us to grow the event from our previous location in Manchester and to keep on track of all the opportunities on offer.

“The team is in constant contact with us, making sure that we’re aware of upcoming deadlines and helping us get over the line and put on a great show. The event ran successfully last October and we’re looking forward to returning next year.”

Marcus Kerr, ACC Liverpool production manager, added: “The Foot and Ankle Show first took place at our venue in 2019.  We enjoyed working with the client team to explore how we can grow the event and to present innovative solutions which we hope to continue into 2023 when the event returns.”
