Prince William met with next generation of industry leaders at Exhibition Centre Liverpool

The Duke of Cambridge visited the 2018 International Business Festival in Liverpool, touring the event’s exhibition space, speaking with delegates and meeting young people exploring the world of enterprise.

The 2018 International Business Festival is being held over three weeks at Exhibition Centre Liverpool. The event, which is in its third edition, brings together thousands of industry leaders from around the world to make connections, share knowledge and do business.

The Duke, who is patron of the festival, gave a speech to delegates in which he said he believed that business should be a force for good. The presentation was given to an audience of businesspeople from across the UK and around the world including large trade delegations from India, China and across Europe.

Following his speech, the Duke spoke to young people participating in the NextGen Fest and visited the UK Innovation Hub to see cutting edge technologies at the heart of the UK’s new industrial strategy, including 3D-printed robotic limbs produced by a team based at the University of Manchester.

Max Steinberg, chairman of the International Business Festival, said: “We are delighted to have been joined today by our festival patron, the Duke of Cambridge. The support of the Duke has helped us to champion the importance of the business sector and to inspire, connect and inform businesses from across the UK and the world.”

Since its launch in 2014, the International Business Festival has delivered more than half a billion pounds of new trade and investment. Running for nine days across three weeks, the Festival explores challenges and opportunities for business across a range of high-growth sectors, including life sciences, manufacturing and the creative industries.
