The ACC Liverpool Group is set to herald the new year with another packed programme of shows, conferences and exhibitions at its waterfront venues - Echo Arena, BT Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre Liverpool.

Highlights on the entertainment calendar include Bob Dylan - who returns to the venue in May for the first time since 2009 – Bruno Mars, Take That and the 2017 Gymnastics British Championships.  Returning conferences such as BBC Worldwide Showcase, the Royal College of Nursing and NHS Confederation are among forthcoming conferences.  Meanwhile 2017 exhibitions will include The Liverpool and North West Wedding Show, MCM Liverpool Comic Con and the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers.

The venue was recently announced as principle venue and official partner of ‘British Style Collective presented by Clothes Show’, which is set to take over the city of Liverpool in July 2017.  The event will take over the whole of the site - as well as utilising iconic city centre buildings - for a summer festival celebrating fashion, beauty, music, wellbeing, fitness, health, and education in the creative arts.

Bob Prattey, chief executive of The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “2017 promises to be another busy year for us with many highlights coming up throughout the year.

“The return of many conferences, exhibitions and shows underlines the confidence that organisers have in our team that we will deliver successful events.

“Our aim is to ensure that the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come through our doors every year enjoy the varied programme across our campus as well as experiencing everything the city has to offer.”

More than 160 individual events took place in 2016, attracting over 610,000 visitors from across the world.  These included the International Festival for Business, the Labour Party Conference, the European Association for International Education, Sir Elton John and Sir Rod Stewart.

The convention centre was named the Best UK Conference Centre for the fourth successive year at the Meetings and Incentive Travel industry awards.  Meanwhile Echo Arena unveiled plans for a new VIP bar which will offer spectacular views across the waterfront when it opens next year.

A total of £195m was generated for Liverpool city region in 2016 alone, bringing the overall economic impact to more than £1.2bn since the complex opened in 2008.

The ACC Liverpool Group’s portfolio also includes the ticketing agency TicketQuarter which will continue to provide ticketing solutions for a range of venues and events in 2017 such as National Museums Liverpool, St George’s Hall and Aintree Racecourse.
