ACC Liverpool has confirmed another round of bookings for its new exhibition centre, six months ahead of opening.
These events include a combination of consumer and trade exhibitions which will take place at Exhibition Centre Liverpool which, when it opens in September, will make the waterfront venue the only purpose-built interconnected arena, convention and exhibition centre in Europe.
They are LiftEx which is confirmed for November this year, followed by the Ultimate Christmas Fair later in the month. The North of England’s Largest Antiques and Collectors Fair will be held in February 2016. The events are expected to attract a total of 25,000 visitors.
The £40m Exhibition Centre Liverpool will include a £26m integrated 216-room Pullman hotel which is taking bookings from January next year. Both will be interconnected to ACC Liverpool, which currently comprises BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, via a pedestrian link bridge.
Amy King, exhibition sales manager at ACC Liverpool, said: “These latest confirmations highlight the diversity of events that we will be able to host at Exhibition Centre Liverpool, from large trade to consumer exhibitions.
“The venue is rapidly progressing and, with just six months to go, we are working closely with organisers to secure a comprehensive programme for when we open our doors.”
The arrival of Exhibition Centre Liverpool will more than double the existing 7,125 sqm of exhibition space at ACC Liverpool to 15,225 sqm of integrated and flexible event facilities. It will be a single building containing 8,100 sqm which can be divided into three 2,700 sqm halls. It will feature an atrium glazed with waterfront views, food and beverage outlets, multiple meeting rooms, external balconies, external exhibition space and a business centre.
Sharon Burrell, event director at The Ultimate Christmas Fair, said: “The development of Exhibition Centre Liverpool will enable us to bring our event not only to Liverpool for the first time but to a new venue – it’s an exciting period for all our teams involved.
“The development is progressing extremely well and we are confident that we will host a successful event.”
Exhibition Centre Liverpool will be capable of hosting trade and consumer exhibitions; large national and international conferences with attached exhibitions; large scale banquets; concerts and sporting events on a national and international scale. Concert space will be for up to 6,000 people standing.
The waterfront venue has already confirmed the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers FPS Expo which will take place in 2016, 2017 and 2018; Bliss Wedding Shows’ The Liverpool Wedding Show in 2015, 2016 and 2017; Girls Day Out in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and MCM Expo group in 2016. The Allergy and Free From Show North and UK Baby and Toddler Show organised by UKFE, which both currently take place at ACC Liverpool, will migrate and grow in the new centre from 2015.
Conferences include RenewableUK in October this year and the European Association for International Education (EAIE) in September 2016.
