Exhibition Centre Liverpool

ACC Liverpool has confirmed the first bookings for its upcoming multi-million pound exhibition centre, set to be the newest facility of its kind in the UK.

These events include a combination of six consumer and trade exhibitions which will take place at the city centre venue, set to open next year.

They are the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers FPS Expo which will take place in 2016, 2017 and 2018; Bliss Wedding Shows’ The Liverpool Wedding Show in 2015, 2016 and 2017; Girls Day Out in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and MCM Expo group in 2016. The Allergy and Free From Show North and UK Baby and Toddler Show organised by UKFE, which both currently take place at ACC Liverpool, will migrate and grow in the new centre from 2015.

The £40m Exhibition Centre Liverpool will include a £26m integrated 4-star 216 room headquarters hotel. Both will be interconnected to ACC Liverpool which currently comprises BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena.

Tim Banfield, Commercial Director of ACC Liverpool, said: “We started on site with Exhibition Centre Liverpool last month and construction is now well underway.  To be able to confirm six events so soon after breaking ground is hugely encouraging.

“These initial announcements reflect our aim to become the UK’s newest and most exciting destination for large trade and consumer exhibitions.”

The arrival of Exhibition Centre Liverpool will increase the existing 7,125 sqm of exhibition space at ACC Liverpool to 15,225 sqm of integrated and flexible event facilities.  It will be a single building containing 8,100 sqm which can be divided into three 2,700 sqm halls.  It will feature an atrium glazed with waterfront views, food and beverage outlets, multiple meeting rooms, external balconies, external exhibition space and a business centre.  A pedestrian link bridge will connect the new facility to ACC Liverpool.

The hotel, operated by Branded Hotel Management, will include up to 10,500 sqm of floor space and seven storeys of rooms above a ground floor reception, lobby, restaurant, bar, meeting rooms and gym.

Exhibition Centre Liverpool will be capable of hosting trade and consumer exhibitions; large national and international conferences with attached exhibitions; large scale banquets; concerts and sports events on a national and international scale.   Concert space will be for up to 10,000 people standing.

In its first year of operation, it is expected to host about 50 events and attract more than 250,000 visitors.
