National Cancer Research Institute
The National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) conference is the largest oncology conference in the UK. The event has been held at ACC Liverpool since 2010. The production team has supported the NCRI since 2010, having increased the level of technical support year on year. Building on the relationship in 2011, the team tendered and won full production for the 2012 event and has continued to meet the full production needs of the client ever since.
Commenting on her support from the ACC Liverpool production team, Sharon Vanloo NCRI project and events manager said “The creativity combined with exceptional value really makes ACC Liverpool’s production team stand out from the crowd…from the first production meeting to the last speaker, I felt supported throughout the process which was greatly aided by such a skilled and knowledgeable AV team. The venue listens to what we want and is very adaptable, particularly around the number of breakout rooms needed and the quick turnaround times required because of our busy programme. Our requirements change yearly but the staff always try to find a solution to any last minute requests – and I’ve thrown up a few. Yet everything is dealt with seamlessly.”
In Hall 1 which was the main plenary space, a 12m wide 3:1 ratio screen was fitted. The projection on screen was fed with two 14,000 lumen Christie projectors delivering a range of High Definition sources, ensuring the content was seen by the 1,000+ strong audience.
In 2013 the NCRI moved their dinner to Echo Arena Liverpool. The production team transformed the space into a luscious, banquet style dinner for 400 delegates, complete with full box draping, LED Star cloth and dance floor.
More recently the team has provided live streaming for the event, allowing conference only delegates to view the material whilst also offering all the plenary sessions on the client’s main website post event.
