Exhibition Centre Liverpool has confirmed two separate multi-year consumer exhibitions.
The Liverpool Wedding Show has signed a five year deal while The Big Bang North West will take place over two years.
The Liverpool Wedding Show was the first consumer exhibition at Exhibition Centre Liverpool after it opened in September last year. It returns to the waterfront venue this weekend (January 23 – 24) and will take place twice a year over the next five years.
Joanne Fenna, managing director of the show, said: “Moving The Liverpool Wedding Show to Exhibition Centre Liverpool has been a great success and we have seen a big increase in the numbers of visitors and exhibitors. The exhibition centre now gives us an arena that matches the calibre of this show. We are confident that the forthcoming exhibitions over the next five years will be just as popular.
“Exhibition Centre Liverpool has brought something new to Liverpool and the venue enables us to expand and develop our event thanks to its size and flexibility.”
The Big Bang North West will welcome young people interested in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) on July 5 this year and again in 2017.
Michelle Dow, managing director of MerseySTEM, said: “We are expecting 6,000 students to visit the show, take part in experiments and learn about the world of science. It will be a fantastic exhibition.
“The show is about inspiration and celebration – exhibitors will be hands on so students can have a go at different STEM careers activities, not just science. It is also a chance for some students to display their project work as a part of the National Science and Engineering Competition.”
Since it opened four months ago, Exhibition Centre Liverpool has hosted a variety of consumer and trade exhibitions including the Allergy and Free From Show, RenewableUK and Camperex. The waterfront venue is adjacent to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, making it the only purpose-built interconnected arena, convention and exhibition centre in Europe.
Forthcoming shows include Dualco Antiques and Collectors Fair and MCM Comic Con.
Exhibition Centre Liverpool includes an integrated 216-room Pullman hotel which opens in February.
Amy King, senior exhibition sales manager at The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “Multi-year deals reflect the confidence exhibition organisers have in their events being a success and attracting thousands of visitors to Exhibition Centre Liverpool.”
Exhibition Centre Liverpool has more than doubled the existing 7,125 sqm of exhibition space at ACC Liverpool to 15,225 sqm of integrated and flexible event facilities. A single building containing 8,100 sqm can be divided into three 2,700 sqm halls. It features an atrium glazed with waterfront views, food and beverage outlets, multiple meeting rooms, external balconies, external exhibition space and a business centre.
As well as trade and consumer exhibitions, the new venue hosts large national and international conferences with attached exhibitions; large scale banquets; concerts and sporting events on a national and international scale.
