Exhibition Centre Liverpool welcomed thousands of visitors to its first public exhibition.
The Liverpool Wedding Show took place over two days at the new waterfront venue, the latest addition to ACC Liverpool, now home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
More than 150 local, national and international exhibitors showcased the latest trends, services and products on offer in the wedding market. Models took to a specially constructed catwalk to show off the latest fashions. Bands, singers and choirs provided entertainment in The Live Lounge.
Joanne Dainty Fenna, managing director of the show, said: “As a Liverpool-based exhibition organiser, it is fantastic to have a facility such as this in the city. It has enabled us to grow our event and ticket sales were the highest they have ever been.
“We are already planning our next event at Exhibition Centre Liverpool in January 2016.”
Exhibition Centre Liverpool hosts trade and consumer exhibitions; large national and international conferences; banquets; concerts and global sporting events. The venue features three prinicipal halls, a glazed atrium with waterfront views as well as cafes, meeting rooms and box office.
It includes an integrated four-star 216-room Pullman hotel which is taking bookings from January next year.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “This was our first consumer exhibition in Exhibition Centre Liverpool and gave us the opportunity to show our new halls to the public for the first time. The venue was transformed with catwalks, cars and bands among the many fantastic displays and there was a real buzz among exhibitors and visitors.”
Forthcoming consumer shows include The Ultimate Christmas Fair; Toytopia; Dualco Antiques and Collectors Fair; Girls’ Day Out; MCM Expo; The Allergy and Free From Show North and the Telegraph Cruise and Travel Show.
